Ben Affleck has only done a few films worth watching outside Kevin Smith's, like Phantoms and Paycheck. However, look how much Affleck appreciates the man.
“It wasn’t enough that I went to Vegas to play in his (Smith's ) lame charity poker tournament for the DVD launch of ‘Jersey Girl,’ but I also had to go out to his f------ store where he’s opening a store where all he’s doing is selling more T-shirts of him and his jack--- friend (Mewes) and he’s roped in an entire generation of kids into thinking it’s worth spending $30 on this and $50 on that if he signs it,” Affleck explained. “I mean the whole thing is a complete travesty and he wanted me to participate in it and I won’t do that.”
Man oh man, fuck Affleck! Smith was responsible for like 90% of your good movies. Go get drunk you reformed prick , I felt bad for your stumbling movie career but not anymore.

From what I gathered from reading that, it didn't sound like he was being serious. Just having a good time ripping on his buddy.

Damn... that's shitty of him! Ben Affleck wouldn't have a career without Kevin Smith. He was next to nothing before Mallrats & Chasing Amy... That completely pisses me off! Stupid Ben Affleck... uggh.

It doesn't really sound tongue and cheek to me. I am not saying that means it isn't ( and it wouldn't surprise me if it's just Ben messing around) but just the way he is saying it sounds harsh.

I don't think he'd intentionally be that harsh to Smith. I mean the guy basically launched his career. Although, I could be wrong and probably am.

I couldn't believe my eyes. Smith's Jersey Girl was an underated film and should have helped Affleck's career some (though it didn't). I like 7, maybe 8 of Affleck's films and 5 of them were Smith directed and written.

I think the reason his career is faultering now is because of over exposure. His relationship with J-ho ruined his career.

Smithless films?
I liked Phantoms and Paycheck... also Dazed and Confused and Boiler Room but he was supporting in both of those.

Dammit Affleck!
The only films I had really liked that he was in were:
Chasing Amy Dogma Mallrats Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Good Will Hunting
and to some lesser, more guilty pleasure extents,
Buffy The Vampire Slayer DareDevil
I haven't seen Jersey Girl yet. Just never played near me, and I just never really got the incentive to go out and rent it. Just didn't look like it was going to be good.
But seriously, that's some pretty harsh words. Affleck should know, Smith will always have a loyal fanbase, while Affleck's has been waning for years now. Why? Cause Smith has stayed a fan, while Affleck has done nothing but become a paycheck tabloid fodder.

Ben Affleck was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer?? hmm.... anyways yeah it was very harsh. I wonder if this means no more Affleck in View Askew stuff.... if that happens atleast we (hopefully) still have Jason Lee there!
Also DOMD you should see Jersey Girl, Definitely!!
