Clinton was one of our greatest Presdients and accomplished alot for this country. Alot of which Bush underminded when he went into office, but I won't get into that.
I agree with most of what you said Ouchy.
Here are the excuses I see most Bush supporters give when I list "Bush has given us very high unemployment, high oil prices, thousands of dead soldiers from a hasty war, neglect to our enviroment, neglect to the middle class by giving the upper class tax cuts and annoying speaches on terror that are only ment to scare the unknowing."
1) I don't trust Kerry because he is flip flop on issues.
Reply: Still doesn't change that Bush is a monster who has destroyed our Economy, taking away from the poor and giving to the rich. Why not vote for someone like Nader if you don't like Kerry? Anyone is better than Bush!
2) Kerry is too "sensitive" on the war issue. I feel safe with Bush in office. There are terrorists out there!
Reply: That's what Bush wants you to believe. He wants you to believe that you are in danger and if it weren't for him and his "efforts" to put national security in place, you wouldn't be safe. This is propaganda at it's finest. Sure there are terrorists out there in the world and Bush is probably doing a decent job at making sure there is lots of extra security. But these issues shouldn't overshadow the environment, our economy, and the job market. Just because Bush likes to rant on the media and show his assertiveness about getting rid of the "Evil", doesn't mean he is any more qualified for the job. When was the last time you were attacked by a Terrorist? Bush wants you right where he has you. Fearful and sedated.
3) Changing a President in the middle of a War is too risky. Bush started the war in Iraq and he should finish it.
Reply: That's a good point, but is it really a deciding factor on Bush remaining in office for another term?
The War In Iraq isn't our only problem right now.
We have problems right here in our own country to worry about. There is a saying that goes, "What is the difference between the war in Iraq and the war in Vietnam? Nothing except that Bush found a way out of Nam." We as Americans let the old men contrive reasons for war, yet let our youth go out and fight them. Young men fighing old men wars. The war in Iraq is no different. We meddle in problems we imagine in our brains, and totally ignore the issues right here on our own soil. 9/11 was an opening for Bush, to rally the angry American nation into hasty wrath. It was a strategy that shows it's worth now, after his re-election.
He first went after Bin Laden, rallying America behind him, but when he couldn't find Bin Laden he switched his focus on Saddam, and by then, even when some Americans didn't agree with Bush's methods, it was too late with Bush's momentum so strong. It was too late...Bush already got American in his hands. Hook, line, and sinker.
4) Bush has better morals than the other candidates, and I agree with him.
Reply: That's fine and dandy, but just because he has a Christian moralistic view, doesn't mean that Congress is going to back him. Kerry believes that religion should be seperate from State, and I agree. I am religious and I agree. Why should I force my morals on other people, even when there is a minority? Everyone should have the choice. Gays should have the choice to marry and women should have the choice to abort. It's up to them to decide what is morally acceptable. Who is Bush and the rest of the nation to take away from other's rights to freedom? I thought that was the essence of America? Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happyness...
So Bush is trying to go against slightly less than half of Americans freedom because the other and greater half doesn't agree with their moral stand point. Oh go cry me a river! If there were alot of racist people in this country, should their be a law against interracial marrage?
Of course this is all opinion, but morals are subjectable, our economy is not. And it is a PROVEN fact, that our economy and job market has suffered because of Bush being in office.
